Class Policies
Safety and Security:
For the safety of the students, parents are required to promptly pick up their child after their lesson since there are no adults supervision. Parents that wish to wait for their child can wait in the living room so not to distract the instructor or the student during the lesson.
Security cameras are located in open areas of the property for the safety of the instructor and students.
Lesson Time:
Students, please be prompt for your lesson time and parents, please promptly pick up your child at the end of the lesson time. Please remember to bring all your books, completed homework, and materials.
Tuition Payments:
Tuition is payable by check or cash in monthly installments. Tuition should be paid the first week of the month and due by the 10th of each month. (A $3.00 late charge will be added after the 10th)
Practice:
Students are expected to practice a minimum of 5 days a week. First year students should practice between 30 to 45 minutes daily. Short sessions of 10 or 15 minutes two or three times per day will get very good results. Second year students should practice between 45 to 60 minutes per day. Third year students and above should practice at least 60 minutes per day. When preparing for a performance or recital students may need to increase the practice time dramatically.
Make Up Lessons:
Parents are expected to provide 24 hour notification of a missed lesson in order to reschedule a make-up lesson. No make-ups will be carried over from one session to the next. All make-ups must be scheduled and completed in the session in which they were missed. In the event the instructor cancels a lesson, a make-up will be offered.
Tardiness: Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time.
Recitals:
Spring and Winter Recital are the main performance events of the year. All students are expected to attend. At the end of the recital awards and certificates are presented and a group photograph is taken.
Holidays:
Classes are not provided on the following holidays: Christmas and New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving. Students whose lessons fall on these holidays will rescheduled.
Books and Supplies:
Books and supplies are not covered by tuitions. Parents are able to buy books from the instructor, music stores, or online.
